September 11, 2001On September 11, 2001, the worst act of terrorism in the history of the United States destroyed the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City and part of the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. The attacks killed nearly 3,000 people at the World Trade Center and almost 200 at the Pentagon. In an intricate plot, terrorists hijacked four planes and crashed one into each tower of the World Trade Center and one into the Pentagon. The fourth plane crashed into a field in western Pennsylvania, presumably after its passengers attempted to overtake the hijackers. Officials believe that plane was headed for the White House or Camp David. (6) (7)(4)

2011
As the tenth anniversary of 9/11 was quickly approaching, CIA agents were hot on the trail on the mastermind behind the attack- none other than Osama Bin Laden. They had sufficient evidence he was living in a million plus dollar compound located only about a half mile away from the Pakistani military academy
Raid Timeline
May 2, 2011
Under the cover of darkness, two stealth helicopters left from a base `in Jalalabad Afghanistan headed towards Abbottabad, Pakistan. The helicopters were filled with members from SEAL team six, and they had been planning the mission code named "Operation Neptune Spear". The helicopter flight was about 90 minutes. (15)

The helicopters flew below radar detection because the US did not want to let the Pakistani government know about the mission, for fear they were involved or would notify Bin Laden. (4) Flying below radar detection meant flying in extreme proximity to the ground and mountainous terrain of the area. (10)

When the SEALs arrived at the compound, the first helicopter could not produce enough lift to stay flying because of the high walls. It had a gentle crash that left it leaning up against the wall. The other helicopter landed outside and the SEALs gained entry by using explosives. (11) (6)
http://trojanpoints.blogspot.com/2014/03/mh-x-ghost-hawk.html Although the Helicopters were stealth, people in town were still suspicious as to what was going on. The only people who knew about the raid were a handful of high ranking government officials of the US. |
The SEALs were on the ground for Just 38 minutes, with the first 15 minutes used to sweep the compound in an aggressive offensive. (12) Within that time, Bin Laden , three other men, and a woman were killed. No SEALs were injured or killed in the raid. (4) The raid also produced a "treasure trove" of valuable intelligence about Al-Qeada. Ten computer hard drives, documents, DVDs, almost a hundred thumb drives, a dozen cell phones, and electronic equipment was taken out of the compound. (13) In addition, a lot of Opium was taken from the compound; which makes sense because what sober person would really want to f*** with America. (Start USA chant) (14)

It is often protocol to destroy downed aircraft in Foreign countries, and that was no different in the raid to kill Bin Laden. The helicopters instruments were smashed and then the whole thing was rigged with explosives. (16) The tail rotor was on the outside of the compound and was not destroyed, leading many people to suspect a highly trained task force was behind the operation. That information was released later. The SEALs who were in that first helicopter that crashed were loaded into a supporting helicopter as well as the information recovered and Osama Bin Ladens body. The other 4 bodies were left at the compound. (17)

The next day Osama Bin Laden was buried at sea because no country wanted his remains laid to rest in their country. Muslim religious rites were performed aboard the air craft carrier Carl Vinson in the North Arabian Sea within 24 hours of bin Laden's death. Preparations began at 10:10 am and at-sea burial was completed at 11 am. The body was washed, wrapped in a white sheet and placed in a weighted plastic bag. (18)

Obama broke the news to the world in a televised speech at the White House; then basically everyone in America broke out into a "USA" chant because who doesn't love a dead terrorist.
President Obama: Good evening. Tonight, I can report to the American people and to the world that the United States has conducted an operation that killed Osama bin Laden, the leader of Al Qaeda, and a terrorist who's responsible for the murder of thousands of innocent men, women and children. It was nearly 10 years ago that a bright September day was darkened by the worst attack on the American people in our history. The images of Sept. 11 are seared into our national memory — hijacked planes cutting through a cloudless September sky; the twin towers collapsing to the ground; black smoke billowing up from the Pentagon; the wreckage of Flight 93 in Shanksville, Pa., where the actions of heroic citizens saved even more heartbreak and destruction.
